Pull up a pew with a dram, or two, and settle in for a mouth-watering evening savouring what Scotland’s best at: whisky and writing, music and mischief. Nikki Welch and Blair Bowman, authors of the bestselling The Pocket Guide to Whisky present a tasting session specially selected for the night. It is a taste tour fit for novices and experts alike — exploring old favourites and new contenders, and revealing insider expertise on getting the best value for money, finding the right whisky for every occasion, and how to savour our national drink.

Once you’ve found your favourite tipple (or a soft drink!), we have the perfect accompaniment — a heady evening of sublime storytelling and music. Luca Veste reads from his new thriller and first stand-alone novel The Bone Keeper which will have you gripping onto your glass. Multi-award winning Irish crime writer Stuart Neville, whose novels explore the gritty troubled streets of Belfast and the slick open highways of America when writing as Haylen Beck, also appears. We cap the evening with Glenrothes’ own Andrew Ferguson with a Tribute to Venus Carmichael, the near-mythical 70s singer-songwriter from Arbroath who hit headlines in Las Vegas. Stories and song capture her life, loves, and criminal downfall.

Taster whisky included, soft drinks also available.
